Col de L’Encrenaz, Col de Ramaz & Les Gets

Explore the roads of the Portes du Soleil and take in the exceptional views during this rewarding round-trip towards Lake Geneva and beyond.

Hot foot it from your base on the shores of Lac de Montriond down to the village, across the valley and into Essert Romand, the start of the Col de L’Encrenaz climb. This is a perfect way to begin your day in the saddle. The route to the Col involves a number of hairpin turns, the top section being through the forest and offering shade on even the sunniest of says.

From the Col de L’Encrenaz the descent into Praz de Lys is fast-paced and fun. Make the most of it as the Col de la Ramaz is just around the corner. This is one of the most popular climbs in our area, soak up the atmosphere of this legendary route as you go but don’t spend all of your energy just yet. There’s another climb on the horizon.

This is a suggested route and we’ve a team of experienced, local experts on hand to help you plan a route that suits the objectives of your group. You’ll be spoilt for choice in the Haute Savoie!

The smooth, flat tarmac from the descent of the Ramaz, through Mieussy and into Taninges is best to be enjoyed before you embrace the final big climb of the day into Les Gets. This is a challenging route, often on narrow roads but the plateau of Les Gets village comes soon enough. A descent into Morzine and one final push back to to Hotel du Lac concludes your day in the saddle.
